The Corridor Counts, Inc. (TCC) is a dynamic coalition of community advocates, educators, laborers, public servants, youth leaders, anti-violence activists, and professionals from various sectors who are united in their commitment to creating positive change. Founded in the summer of 2013, TCC was born out of a shared determination to address the pressing needs of communities of color in Nassau County, including Hempstead, Roosevelt, Uniondale, Freeport, Lakeview, and New Cassel. These communities, despite their significant populations, have long faced systemic neglect and marginalization.
At TCC, we recognize that political divisions and limited resources have deepened disparities in our communities. We are dedicated to bridging these gaps by enacting meaningful change that improves life outcomes for all residents in the Corridor.
To evaluate the needs of the Corridor communities and take decisive action in their best interests. As a powerful voting force with shared interests, TCC represents a diverse group of African American, Latino, West Indian, Caribbean, and South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi) residents.
Through cooperation, dialogue, and mutual respect, we seek lasting solutions to longstanding challenges such as education, safety, employment, healthcare, housing, criminal justice reform, and representation. We prioritize community input in our decision-making process, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued without fear of marginalization. Our dedication extends to meaningful engagement in local, state, and national initiatives, advocating for policies and programs that uplift and empower the Corridor communities.
Together, we are committed to building a brighter future where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.
